Soft Matter Days 2015
Gathering ESPCI persons working in the field of soft matter in order to share their research activity in a relaxing atmosphere
Version française
On July 2nd and 3rd, we organize the first ESPCI Soft Matter Days. This meeting will provide the opportunity to present and discuss our soft matter research activities in a relaxing place close to Paris, Gif sur Yvette. (30min by RER). The idea is to discover what is done just next door, and above all to have a moment of conviviality. This meeting will give everyone the opportunity to present their work during 10 minutes oral presentations and poster sessions. The focus topics include: colloid and polymer sciences, biophysics, solid and fluid mechanics, self-assembly, complex fluids, micro and nanofluidics, wetting, active matter, encapsulation, granular materials… The event is open to anyone interested, from PhD students to senior researchers, engineers, and administrative staff. For those willing to do an oral presentation or a poster, please send us a short abstract at: Registrations are open until March 31st. This event is completely free of charges and the registration includes one night hosting, meals and a social event.

The audience is composed of people with rather heterogeneous backgrounds including specialists in solids, fluids, granular flows, statistical physics... so the idea is to keep your talk understandable by people not necessarily working in your field... The seminar time slot runs from 11am to noon so the best is to make the talk last around 45 minutes to leave some time for discussion.
